From the experience I had with Best Buy with other preorderable titles, they will probably make you wait until the 28th to pick up the retail version, although maybe it depends on which location. From what I've been reading about preorder compared to retail, once you get the retail CDs, you just install them like normal and it will update everything. Then you need to enter your Retail Keycode by the end of the 28th PDT so you can continue to play since the preorder key is only good for the 27th and 28th PDT.

1 account per retail key and you can create four characters.
I guess if you wanted to "share" your account with your friend/sibling/parent/pet you can create 4 different characters, but only one can play at a time. If someone wants thier own account, they have to buy thier own copy of the game. This I recommend for if you join a guild, all 4 charcters are apart of that guild.

Well, yes, but there's an issue of "why" as well. Why prevent us from buying the game earlier as preorderers.

However, the point is moot as we can still access the servers with our preorder keys.

I had the same question and I'm guessing you won't be able to access it until the game is live. At least I hope that is the case because I want the bow.

you can log in to manage your account right now.
On the bottom left of the screen, you will see edit accounts. Select manage keys (something like that), and add whatever keys you have in to get the preorder item.

Long story, but I ended up with two pre-order keys so right now I have the bow and the targe.

From my experience from the beta, your name is put on hold for you for a period of time. So if you build a charcter then want to delete and start over, you can keep your name from that previous character as long as you create the new character soon thereafter.

Is there a way to disassociate a beta key from an account? I would like to have the pre-order bow on a different account.

It doesn't look like you can unless you already have a character though. I just preordered so I didn't get to make any characters yet. When I go to choose my character type, I get the error about no events running.

Okay, I read through the thread and I know many questions of similar nature have been made, but I just couldn't find one that answers mine specifically, and although I know that everyone's pretty much in the same boat and rather limited in information, I'm still hoping maybe somebody could shed some light.

I preordered the Collector's Edition from EB games and it arrived yesterday. With it i received the game, all the toys and the retail access key (that I believe will serve me from the 28th and on). I did not however receive a PreOrder key that would allow me early access from the 27th.

So I proceeded to pull a few strings and buy a PreOrder deal and the PreOrder access key will be in my hands in a few hours.

The question is, Upon installation and logging in for the first time I created an account and already provided it with my Retail access key. How will I go about entering the PreOrder access key now to obtain early access on the 27th? Do I create a new account and some how join both existing accounts on the 28th? will it allow me to associate both accounts so that what progress I make on early access will not be lost on the 28th?

Any productive answer would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Nevermind, Got my answer. Just ran GW again and downloaded a few files. Now it appears there are a few extra menus allowing territorial editing, personal Email editing and Account Key editing. Allows you to add extra keys & extra features if you own so many. Cheers mates.

The key on the case is your key to play the game. Pre-order key comes in a different box entirely for those who purchsed the game early.
The smaller yellow and white box shown here is the pre-order box with the pre-order key you need to play on the 27th.

Damn, while my EB that I preordered at has the standard game already in, they don't have any CE in. Since I preordered yesterday, I guess it'll come in Thursday or Wednesday. They didn't have any early access keys, so I guess I can't play on the 27th.

I recieved no white box. I also got this from EB games...

I have never ever once had a preorder go right. I don't know why I bother.

When I preordered from EBGames, I didn't get another box. But I did get a big envelope with a CD with art, music, the client and other neat stuff on it, a poster, some mini strategy guide, and a little envelope with a preorder keycode that I used to get access for the 27th and the bow.

I went to FutureShop today and bought the game, they still had some pre-order boxes left so I think in some stores it's still possible to get the pre-order code.

For the people who don't know how to enter the codes.. look at my screen shots, hope they help.

On fine GW Step 3 if you've pre-ordered the game and been playing in the beta events the April 27th will already be in there along with your free weapon listen on the bottom.

After you enter your game code you'll see if you return to that screen that the April 28th line will be added. I'm guessing if you just got your pre-order code you'll see nothing on that screen. You'll have to enter pre-order code 1st, then the game code.
